This is likely to be my only post for September 08 so I’ll just summarize things with a few bullet points.

My main website has disappeared off the face of Google again but I’m hopeful that things will improve soon.

I had been using a free webhost to host my urlism.com website but I apparently violated the terms of service. The first I knew about this was when I was checking my ads at exposedads.com. An email notifying me that my account had been disabled would have been nice. Fortunately, I have managed to set up some sub-domains at my main website and urlism.com now redirects to one of these sub-domains. However, I still have some work to do in order to get the site working the way it used to.

PLR continues to build up and gather dust on my hard drive. A lot of it is good quality which I paid good money for but I just can’t motivate myself to set it all up on my website even though I acquired some software which automates this process.

exposedads.com continues to tick over nicely. The ads are rotating quite quickly now because I have reached my self-imposed limit of 150 ads. I’m also keeping the upgrade price low so the next few weeks will be a good guide as to the future success of the site. I’ve also had some good feedback from an advertiser which was encouraging.

I’m currently experiencing terrible customer service from a top PTC site. It’s regarding a payment which appears as “sent” in my back office but I haven’t received it. I’m losing hope that I will ever see the payment.

I think that covers it for now but I will make a new post if anything noteworthy happens. I’m addicted to a popular webcam chat room just now so it could be a while until my next post. Until then…

The “guru’s” make it look so easy. It seems as if they can upload a sales page, a thank you page and an OTO page minutes after a product is released. However, the reality is that these tasks can be tedious, time consuming and sometimes quite difficult to the average part-time webmaster. This has been one of the things which has held me back from fully developing my website and selling more digital products online.

Recently I came across a product which claimed to automate the process of the above mentioned tasks. Cheekily (I know I shouldn’t have done this) I used Google to find a free download of the program from a file sharing site. This shows how much I need a product like this. I’ve only briefly looked at the software but I intend to watch the tutorial videos over the next few days. I’ll write another post when I’ve successfully used the software.

Its been a while since my last post so I decided to mention a special offer which is currently running at my free adboard - exposedads.com.

Until the end of this month (August 08) you can upgrade your ad for just $1.95. This represents excellent value because I should be charging $10. I’ll be making a decision on whether to increase the price on 1st September so place your ad soon.

Changing subject, my main website - andrewmcgovernonline.com - seems to be doing better in the Google rankings. I have no idea why this is happening, lol, but I’m not complaing (I’m clueless when it comes to SEO). I’ll have to think about new ways to cash-in on my higher rankings since my Adsense account was disabled.

I couldn’t think of a shorter title for this post, but its true - I’m program hopping like a newbie.

When I first started trying to earn money online I would move from program to program, trying to find the perfect opportunity, trying to do lots of things at the same time. I though that I had moved on when I began creating my own websites. However, lately I have signed up to several opportunities and I just know that my chances of earning decent money online are still low. This sounds negative and depressing, but its true.

I’ve been using traffic exchanges a lot and one of the downsides of using these is that you are bombarded with images and messages telling you that you have found the perfect opportunity to earn thousands of dollars online. These websites are very tempting and you begin to believe that they could possibly work.

I’ve also revisited Clickbank looking for decent programs to promote as an affiliate. I first tried Clickbank a long time ago but without much success. Now I have decided to try promoting two programs which look quite good and the stats provided by Clickbank are encouraging.

Also, I’ve signed up to a reseller hosting site. I think I am out of my depth with this one - there’s a lot of customizing to do in your back office and you even have to choose your own packages and prices! But I’m going to give it a go and try to refrain from signing up to any more programs.

I’ve neglected my blog for a while because I’ve been working on my latest website. I should also say that I haven’t really been in the mood lately for working on my websites and it has taken far too long to do quite a simple project.

Anyway, the website in question is a “URL shortener”. The script that I have used is probably the most basic out there but that is OK with me because, as I have said before, I’m only a part-time webmaster. Basically, a user can visit the site, enter their long URL, add a “tag” which relates to their long URL, and the script generates a short URL with the tag at the end.

For example: www.urlism.com/tag

Unlike other similar sites there is not a membership feature and I’m not sure if or when the links will expire but I am confident that visitors will bookmark the site and use it regularly. Long URLs really are annoying!

If you need a short URL pay a visit to my website http://urlism.com

This morning I received an email from Google telling me that my Adsense account has been disabled. I’ve had some time to think about things since then and I think this has happened because I placed ads on pages with very little content such as my PDF creation page.

I’m not too upset that my account has been disabled but I am upset and angry at the fact I now have to remove my niche video pages from my website. Although these pages contained content which I thought was useful and informative, I was using them to earn revenue from Adsense. I also had other pages with adsense ads on and I was hoping to upload a games site which was also going to be used to earn money from Adsense.

Now I’m going to take some time to decide what I want to do next with my website and to consider some Adsense alternatives. I think there are quite a lot out there but they probably don’t pay as much as Adsense.

I decided to give it a go and I am quite happy with how things have gone. I am also quite confident that I can earn back that small monthly fee and more.

I’ll be changing one or two things and placing some ads on the page, but the converter is ready to use right now.

After spending many years trying to create attractive and popular websites, I’ve decided to try blogging using Wordpress. I don’t know much about the different blogging platforms but I think Wordpress is probably the most popular and easy to customize.

Also, its my birthday today - 1st June. So I’m really seeing this as a new beginning and an opportunity to put my views, opinions and ideas across to as many people as possible.

I should also mention that I dabble in Internet Marketing but I want this blog to include many things.

The first thing I am going to do is link my video websites to this blog. I have created a collection of Niche Video Sites which link to YouTube videos. More information will follow soon.

Thats all for now. My first blog post is completed.
